Fall Luminary
It may be warm in your neck of the woods, but fall is coming! Replace the waning daylight with warm candlelight through this autumn-themed luminary. Makes you want a cup of cider, doesn’t it?
Materials Needed:
Round galvanized container (ours is 9 in. tall and 5 1/2 in. diameter)
Scrap fabric
Six junk washers with 1/2 in. centers
3/4 yard ribbon
Electrical wire
One piece of junk hardware
Gorilla Super Glue
Decoupage glue
Fine sand paper
4 to 6 in. pillar candle

1/2 in. drill bit

Method
Step 1. Clean galvanized container.
Step 2. Measure circumference with twine.

Step 3. Measure to desired height.
Step 4. Cut fabric to these sizes allowing for a 1/2 in. overlap.

Step 5. Apply decoupage glue to container.

Step 6. Apply Gorilla Super Glue to backside edges of fabric
Step 7. Adhere fabric to container smoothing out any wrinkles.
Step 8. Apply a coat of decoupage to fabric, let dry for 30 minutes. Repeat this process three to five times.

Step 9: When last coat of decoupage glue is dry, spray with water and with fine sand paper.
Step 10: Measure top edge of container, preparing to drill holes. Space evenly.
Step 11: Drill holes with 1/2 in. drill bit.
Step 12: File holes with metal file for a smooth finish.
Step 13: Affix washers over holes with Gorilla Super Glue.


Step 14: Tie ribbon above fabric, adding electrical wire and junk hardware as embellishment.
