As I come close to the end of the bookcase project, a washing machine overflow on the floor above my workshop leaks down onto my unfinished wood surfaces. Luckily everything dried out fine. So just a little more sanding before finishing it up.  Whew!

After tweaking the proportions of the prototype base, I've finally landed on a design I'm happy with.

Any tool afficianado can appreciate great hand tools. The first in a two part post covering the inspiring, and simply amazing hand tools and techniques from the Lie Nielsen Tool Show in Cincinnati.

Up until now, everything has just looked like a pile of lumber. Glue-up finally starts bringing things into focus, and opens up some new, unanticipated issues as well.

While some people focus on one project at a time, I keep a few projects going on at one in my basement shop.

Time to start thinking about the design of the bookcase because I am out of dust collection bags.
